San Diego Gymnastics opened their first location in Point Loma in 2008.  Owners, Doug and Christina Grady, found themselves busy working full time jobs while trying to find time to shuttle their three children to various activities, including driving their daughter 30+ minutes each way to gymnastics 3 times a week. This quickly helped the Gradys realize that Point Loma needed gymnastics. 

Christina grew up in east county and was an avid gymnast and all-around athlete. She attended the University of California Irvine on a basketball scholarship. Doug grew up in Point Loma and then went on to earn his degree in entrepreneurship at the University of Southern California. The combination of experience, with the understanding of the demand for gymnastics in Point Loma, made for the key ingredients that sparked the beginning of San Diego Gymnastics. With great appreciation for the Peninsula community, SDG grew and became a neighborhood staple.  

In 2013, the Gradys decided to bring SDG to the Eastlake community where they had lived in the early part of their marriage. Knowing that this growing community could use gymnastics as well, SDG opened in the Otay Ranch Town Center.  Again with great support from the East Lake community, SDG Otay Ranch grew and flourished.

In 2017 SDG opened in Grossmont Center in La Mesa, an area where Christina had spent much of her childhood.  SDG Grossmont Center continues to grow and thrive thanks to the amazing children and families from the area. 

In January 2021, SDG opened their fourth location in the La Costa community in Carlsbad. The Carlsbad, Encinitas, and surrounding areas have joined the movement during the COVID-19 pandemic and we could not be more thankful!

Now, we are proud to announce that our fifth location is now open in Mission Valley as of March 4th, 2023! The journey of growth for SDG has been incredible, but not always easy. The amazing employees, coaches, and support personnel have been key to our success. We are forever thankful to them and to our loyal customers! There are not words to show our appreciation for everyone that has helped us continue to provide an activity that we whole-heartedly believe helps kids grow and prosper.
